Festival of Flavours of the World in Vélez.

The guys behind the ‘Sabores del Mundo Sobre Ruedas festival’ have taken meals on wheels to a whole new level in the event taking place in Vélez-Málaga on the 16th to 18th November!

This is the third time this year that these ‘food trucks’ have been at the centre of special culinary festivals in the Málaga region. Just like before, most recently in July at Torrox Costa, you’ll find top chefs in these vividly decorated vehicles cooking delicious food from countries such as Italy, Mexico, USA, Cuba, Spain, France, Chile, Germany and Argentina.

To make the occasion even more special there’s live music being performed by various groups, who play rock, jazz and soul as well as covers from such crowd pleasers as U2, Oasis, Blur, Bon Jovi and The Beatles!

The festival’s organisers, Granada based Baobab Events, are hoping to repeat the success of the ones they put on in Torrox Costa and Marbella earlier this year, which were attended by over 15,000 people. This innovative culinary event, imported directly from the US, is aimed as much at encouraging local attendees as well as tourists, and of course everyone sits together happily tucking into their Mexican burritos and nachos, Chilean empanadas, German sausages or American gourmet hamburgers!

The details for the event are as follows:

The festival will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución, Vélez-Málaga on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November, and start at 2.00 in the afternoon.

It is a family friendly occasion with activities for children. It had been scheduled for October, but due to heavy rain, it had to be postponed to these dates.
